In carrying out her work, she cooperates extensively, among others with the Laboratory of Molecular Virology and the AMU NanoBioMedical Center. The subject of her research concerns natural, biologically active and biocompatible (non-toxic) plant compounds, materials used in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Doctor Alicja Warowicka is particularly interested in natural polymers, e.g. collagen, chitin or composites of natural polymers with synthetic polymers. Additionally, these materials (e.g. in the form of polymer fibers) are combined (biofunctionalized) with pharmacologically active natural plant compounds.
